Why a solidarity based approach?
Due to the economic system we are living in, more and more people are exposed to precarious conditions. Furthermore, a political climate that is increasingly marginalising certain groups is leading to more experiences of discrimination.
At the same time, massages and body work – which can be an important remedy for rebalancing and finding comfort within yourself – is still predominantly enjoyed by a privileged few. Therefore it is my wish to make it a little more accessible.
How does it work?
Depending on your current financial and life situation, you can chose to pay as much as you feel adequate within the following price ranges:
~} 40 to 60 Euro for 45min
~} 55 to 75 Euro for 60min
~} 85 to 105 Euro for 90min
Solidarity is based on honesty with two main pillars:
~ Don’t let shame or any other feeling hold you back – if you feel like you can only pay the lowest price option at the moment, do so without any regrets.
~ On the other hand, if you are in a rather comfortable situation, please consider paying more than the medium price. Because we all – including myself – have to make our living.
The scheme is meant to be flexible: each time you come to my studio, you can chose anew which price to pay.
You are free to tell me your prefered price either when you make the booking or after having received the massage, whatever feels more comfortable for you.
Where does Amani come from?
Amani means “peace” in Kiswahili, a language spoken in many parts of Eastern Africa and one of the official languages of Tanzania. It is my second name, as I was born and raised in Tanzania.
The name furthermore exists in the Arab world, where it refers to wishes, hope or – as a declination of another word – “my (inner) security”.
I reckon it to be a beautiful guidance for my work, as that is what I wish to give through my hands: a feeling of inner peace and comfort.
